Poetry challenge #10 ‘Summer’

The air was fresh
We ran home for tea
Cleansing hands before we eat
The water is clear

The grass was cut
We sipped lemonade
A dandelion teases a bee
The sun is yellow

The cat stretched out
Mum smiled at us
In this time we were free
The light is white

The moon gave late rise
Mum read us to sleep
Whispers would lend us dreams
Our hearts red and pink.
