Poetry challenge #20 ‘Nature’

Your canopy great and green
Shades me from the rays
I am unseen
The crystals of my skin
Let me change colour at will
Disallowing that I
Should give the predator his fill
This time
I am middling in the chain
I eat and survive being eaten
For now
I eat my bugs
Chameleon.

With love,
Once Unchained
