Poetry challenge #29 ‘Food’

Birthday cake
Candle glowing bright
Spit on me harshly
There’ll be more of me
For your own delight

Birthday cake,
Kept fresh beneath
Iced over enclosure
Keeping crumbs inside
Until that knife

Birthday cake,
Sweet flavour explosion
Sugary teeth erosion
A taste for the ages
I revel in you.

It’s my birthday.

With love, OnceUnchained.
