Poetry challenge #16 ‘Confidence’

Heels clicking on the ground
Her hair high upon her head
Clean and sharp and poised
The second she leapt from bed

Finger tapping on her desk
Eyes bright as the screen
Smart and fresh and happy
There’s no other way to be seen.

Keys turning in her door
at home is where she stood
Quiet and right and so
All things as they should…

Owl cawing in the night
Bare feet sticking to the wood
And believing that she could
She caved his f***ing head in
And silenced him for good.

Heels clicking on the ground
Eyes bright as the screen
Clean and happy and poised
There’s no other way to be seen.

With love,
Once Unchained
